The first white man to visit Kamloops was David Stuart in 1811. T he first Trading Post at Kamloops was established by David Stuart, of the Pacific Fur Company, in 1812: the Founding of Kamloops. T he North-west Company established a Post at the same place later in the same year. T he North-west Company bought out the Pacific Fur Company in 1813.
