Education Comes to Kamloops During the early years of the fur-tradirif era in Kamloops, children and women were usually kept well in the background because of the mixture of bloods, efind no record of any effort being made to educate the children, but undoubtedly the SE ime procedure obtained in Kamloops as in the other establishments was used. In some cases the more fortunate ones were sent to school in Eastern Canada while the rest received some instruction at home. In the Standing Rules and Regulations of the Hudson s Bay CO iiipany, 1835, we see the following: The Promoting Moral and Religious Improvement among the people attached to each fort.
